History Of PSL- Pakistan Super League .
HBL Pakistan Super League ( PSL ) is the professional T20 ( Twenty 20) cricket league launched by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).It was founded in Lahore, Pakistan on 9 September 2015 with five teams and now comprises total six teams which includes international players from England , Australia , Soth Africa . Instead of operating as an association of independently owned teams, the league is a single entity in which each franchise is owned and controlled by investors and sponsers .
The commercial rights of PSL (Pakistan Super League) to the initial franchises were sold for US$93 million for a duration of 10 years in December of 2015. So market value of HBL PSL in 2017 was up to US$300 million, according to statistics shown by psl members board.
From begining every PSL season runs between the months of February and March, with each team playing matches to reach in the top of list; the top four teams with the best record qualify for the playoffs and culminates in the championship HBL PSL Cup Final. The league is completely directed by Pakistan Cricket Board head office in Lahore. The first season was played entirely in the United Arab Emirates due to security reasons and situation of country.
The inaugural champions were Islamabad United fo First PSL Season. In 2nd season eshawar Zalmi were the 2017 PSL Champions, having defeated Quetta Gladiators in Lahore on 5 March 2017.In 3rd season Islamabad United were the 2018 PSL champions by beating Peshawar Zalmi on 25 March 2018. Now 4th and current champions are Quetta Gladiators, who won the title on 17 March 2019 in Karachi.Few matches of season 3 and 4 were played in pakistan including finals.
